A San Francisco reunion looks to be in the works in Los Angeles
After nearly a decade away from the NFL, Jim Harbaugh is making his long-awaited return to pro football, taking over as the head coach of the Los Angeles Chargers just weeks after winning a National Title with his alma mater, the Michigan Wolverines. Harbaugh heads to Los Angeles flanked by Jesse Minter, his defensive coordinator the previous two seasons at Michigan, and Greg Roman, the offensive coordinator of the 49ers during all four years of Harbaugh’s tenure in San Francisco. And as we learned today, Minter and Roman aren’t the only two familiar faces who will be serving on Harbaugh’s staff.

The previous season, Bowman worked as a defensive analyst at Maryland after helping the San Francisco defense excel under Harbaugh.
Under Harbaugh, NaVorro Bowman played three healthy seasons and made three consecutive All-Pro Teams, solidifying his status as one of the NFL’s top linebackers.Bowman missed the entire 2014 season after tearing his ACL in the NFC Championship Game at the end of the 2013 postseason. When Bowman came back for the 2015 campaign, Harbaugh had already taken over as head coach at Michigan.
2019 will mark Bowman’s official retirement, capping a playing career that ended before he turned thirty. After moving back home, Bowman has worked with the Maryland Terrapins football team for the past three seasons as a defensive analyst.
Now that they’re getting ready to get back together, Bowman and Harbaugh have the opportunity to accomplish what they failed to do nearly ten years ago: win a Super Bowl.
