Nottingham Forest Submit Bid to Sign 23-Year-old – Club Tempted, Wages Need Looking at

On December 9th, UOL stated Nottingham Forest have made contact to sign Botafogo’s Igor Jesus in the winter market. They reported a fee in excess of €20m would be needed for the transfer to take shape.

The Premier League side have converted their interest into an offer to secure the striker’s services.

That’s at least what Globo Esporte are reporting, and they state Nottingham Forest have tabled a bid to sign the 23-year-old.

It’s claimed the Reds proposed a fee close to €30m and the Brazilian club have found this ‘interesting’. Despite this, Botafogo haven’t sat down with Nuno Espírito Santo’s side to discuss bonuses etc.

That’s because the Brazil international has turned down Nottingham Forest’s offer. He is happy with his current employer, where he has a contract lasting until December 2027.

The report further adds the salary offered by Nottingham Forest wasn’t tempting enough for the frontman.

Jesus is of the belief it’s best for him to continue at the South American club and they are also happy to retain him even though they found Nottingham Forest’s offer appealing.

The player joined Botafogo for free last summer and managed eight goals and five assists from 31 games.
