Journalist reveals brutal confrontation between Tottenham and Manchester United for defender who is feared by attackers

The agent of Nice center back Jean-Clair Todibo is attempting to generate interest in his client, according to journalist Paul Brown, who expressed skepticism about the rumors linking the player with Tottenham.

The Evening Standard stated at the time that the Lilywhites were “ready to rival” anyone for the player, who was reportedly valued by Nice at £39 million. On November 29, reports linking Toddibo with a move to the Spurs initially surfaced.

Man Utd (Florian Plettenberg) is rumored to be interested in the 23-year-old as well, including Liverpool FC.

PSG eye move for OGC Nice defender Jean-Clair Todibo

A few days ago, Sky Sports claimed that although the Frenchman was at the top of Spurs’ wishlist, Nice is not willing to allow him depart in the middle of the season as they seek for an unexpected title-tilt this season.

Jean-Clair Todibo links are merely agent talk

As of right moment, Brown believes that Todibo lacks the necessary caliber to help either the Tottenham or Manchester United first teams.

He disclosed that he has doubts about the latest transfer rumors because he has heard that other clubs across the continent have made offers for the center-back.

“I think Todibo is someone who has been offered to almost every club in Europe, so I’m a little bit sceptical when I hear that some of the bigger clubs might be interested,” the journalist said to GiveMeSport.

Tottenham muscle into battle with Man Utd, Liverpool for imposing defender starring for unbeaten side

It seems to me that a lot of this conversation is agent chatter aimed at moving the individual to a different location. I would be shocked if any of Spurs or Manchester United made a major effort to sign him because it is unlikely that he will have much of an influence there.

The first two or three choices for the North London club are currently unknown, given the plethora of different center-backs who have been mentioned as Tottenham targets over the past two months.

One thing I know for sure is that Romero and Van de Ven will always be Postecoglou’s first choice duo, thus the club will not spend more than £50 million to buy a player like Marc Guehi or Gleison Bremer.
