Kaizer Chiefs are expected to make some big transfer announcements soon with one of their pending new signings arriving in the country
Kaizer Chiefs are poised to make at least two signings in the last two days of the January transfer window.
This after Chiefs agreed to transfers for two forwards, boosting their attack for the second half of the season.
Chiefs set to announce to signings
The past couple of weeks have been dominated by Chiefs making decisive moves in the current window. The first of which was a swap deal agreed with SuperSport United for the signing of Tashreeq Morris. Gavin Hunt’s side will now get DRC winger Christian Saile in exchange for the target man. The Cape Town native joins Amakhosi on a permanent, while Saile joins on loan until the end of the season.
The second of those forwards that Chiefs have agreed to sign is DRC international winger Glody Lillepo! He currently turns out for French Ligue 3 side Valenciennes FC, it was thought he was put for sale. This due to the side needing to raise funds and they see the winger as an asset they can afford to cash in on. After putting up a fee of €500,000 (R9.6 million), Chiefs entered the conversation willing to stump the cash up. It was then believed that the player was going to reject the chance to join the Glamour Boys. This due to his desire to stay in Europe.
Lilepo arrived?
In the end, however, all parties seemed to reach an agreement with publication reporting that the move imminent. Now according to various sources, Lilepo has arrived in the country to start his new journey with Chiefs!
FARPost editor Mthokozisi Dube, who broke the news of the Chiefs-Lilepo agreement subsequently hinted he had arrived.
“ My sources at OR Tambo indicate that this bakkie was observed departing the airport this morning with two adult male occupants.” Dube posted on his X account, referencing the infamous Chiefs Bakkie. That Bakkie rose to stardom for transporting new club signings in the previous window. This post insinuated that Lilepo had been fetched from the airport.

Karabo Phasha of SuperSport also posted on his X account, that Lilepo had arrived at Chiefs.
