Everton have been cleared of all outstanding PSR charges brought by the Premier League, according to David Ornstein.

The Athletic reporter (17 January) has revealed the Toffees are now up-to-date with toeing the crucial PSR line and the club are now fully compliant from last year.

Everton also made an official announcement via their club website (17 January) to confirm the news, which will come as a huge relief following eight points’ worth of deductions in the Premier League last season and further fears early in this campaign.

Ornstein posted on X: “Final element of Premier League profitability and sustainability charge against Everton for period ending season 2022-23 discontinued.

“Means all outstanding PSR charges brought by Premier League in relation to Everton now resolved and compliant in 2024.”

Everton clear of all PSR issues

Everton are now clear of all the PSR issues which have plagued the club over its recent history, with regular financial battles and to-and-fro with the Premier League seemingly at a close.

The Toffees have emerged from the other side of financial turbulence under Farhad Moshiri and plenty of financial mismanagement which also never helped with several failed takeover attempts.

Everton were able to steer clear of relegation threat in 2023-24 despite the double points deduction, under Sean Dyche who was recently sacked in favour of former manager David Moyes.

Supporters on Merseyside are now beginning to look forward to the future without the looming threat of heavy punishment for financial woes.

The Toffees can now focus on matters on the pitch, with Tottenham Hotspur the next visitors to Goodison Park this Sunday (19 January).
