Confirmed: Teammate leaks latest Kaizer Chiefs signing!
Kaizer Chiefs are believed to be set to announce their fifth signing in just a matter of time, but it seems they have been beaten to it!
Kaizer Chiefs have so far announced four new signings, ahead of the new season with a fifth seemingly loading.
The fifth signing is set to be that of Angolan centre-back Inacio Miguel, who will join the club imminently.
MIGUEL SET TO BE SIGNING FIVE?
As it stands, Chiefs have signed the trio of Bongani Sam, Fiacre Ntwari and Rushwin Dortley to boost their defence. So far, it has only been the latter that has been unveiled by Amakhosi, this ahead of their 4-0 loss to Yanga SC. Neither of them did come on though, and had to watch the Toyota Cup loss to the Tanzanian giant. Sam is the only one of the trio who joined early enough to go to Turkey with the squad. The addition of Miguel is thought to be a shake up of their centre-back ranks, while the Angolan can also play in midfield.
Last week, this publication reported that Chiefs spent R10 million on signing Miguel, who they expect big things from. Now as they wait to announce his deal officially, they may have been beaten to that job already. That by the centre-back’s international and soon to be former club teammate at Petro de Luanda, Hugo Marques. The goalkeeper, who was formerly with Cape Town City in the Betway Premiership, post an animated picture of Miguel with Amakhosi badges in the background. This in a post on his instagram stories. It was well spotted by African football journalist Micky JNR.
EX-TEAMMATE CONFIRMS CHIEFS MOVE?
““Making history in the land of Mandiba.”
Hugo Marques, the goalkeeper of Petro Luanda shared this on his instagram account as he’s happy for Kaizer Chiefs’ new center-back Miguel.” Wrote Micky Jnr on his official ‘X’ account.
Miguel is set to add to the centre-back and midfield stocks at Chiefs, with announcement from the club soon. Amakhosi fans, how excited are you to have the Angolan international at your club? Feel free to leave your thoughts and feelings below.

Kaizer Chiefs have found a commander, PSL teams warned
Kaizer Chiefs impending signing Inacio Miguel is set to set the PSL alight this season. The 28-year-old is called a ‘commander’ for a reason.
Kaizer Chiefs are in the process of signing defender Inacio Miguel from Petro de Luanda.
Should the deal go through, Miguel would be the club’s fifth signing so far for the Soweto giants having already announced Bongani Sam, Rushwin Dortley, Fiacre Ntwari and Gaston Sirino.
The 28-year-old defender has played in Portugal, Romania, Latvia and Angola and will surely bring experience to the team. Kaizer Chiefs are looking to strengthen their defence having conceded 30 goals last season.
InterClube coach Luis Goncalves, who has faced Miguel in the Girabola says the defender is quality.
“Chiefs have found themselves a proper quality in Inacio and I say this because he played against me,” he was quoted on KickOff.
KAIZER CHIEFS TO SIGN A REAL LEADER
“Inacio reads the game very well and takes command in being in possession of the ball.”
Goncalves said the Angolan international is a strong player who the coaches can rely on. Kaizer Chiefs have lacked leadership and presence in the field and perhaps Miguel can bring calm.
“He knows how to pivot when playing in the opposition half. Plus he is strong with the head which makes him effective on set-pieces as well.”
“Chiefs have found themselves a commander in Inacio and will be worth all the trouble that I think they have gone through in signing him,” Goncalves said.
Miguel’s former teammate at Petro de Luanda Hugo Marques also said Kaizer Chiefs impending signing was a great leader.
“Inacio is a very good defender, he has lots of experience, he played in Romania, Portugal, he played in the CAF Champions League, you saw him in the games against Sundowns, he had a very good performance,” Marques told iDiski Times.
CHIEFS STILL LOOKING TO SIGN MORE QUALITY PLAYERS
Miguel is perhaps what Kaizer Chiefs needed in terms of leadership.
