The new college football game that EA Sports is planning to release this summer has college football enthusiasts all over the world begging for it.
The EA Sports college football game was created more than ten years ago, and Denard Robinson, a former quarterback for Michigan, was featured on the cover. You wonder if a player like J.J. McCarthy from the team that won the national title the previous season could be on the cover.
To be exact, a couple more months will pass before we find out. However, we do know that all 134 FBS teams—including Michigan football—will be included in EA Sports College Football.
Players are able to opt into the game starting on Thursday and Michigan football fans will be excited about one of the confirmed players in the game — five-star cornerback Will Johnson.
Hayes Fawcett of On3.com reported a list of confirmed players for the game and Johnson is the first Michigan Wolverine to be confirmed. The defensive MVP of the national championship game is certainly the most high-profile U-M player set to return along with running back Donovan Edwards, defensive tackles Kenneth Grant and Mason Graham, plus tight end Colston Loveland.
Those are all players who could be selected in the first round of the draft. If Johnson was eligible in 2024, he would be selected in the first round. Graham and Grant most likely would be as well.
Johnson gained notoriety earlier this week when he refuted reports of Will moving to Alabama in a text message to his father. Johnson said to his father, according to On3.com, that’s “all Cap.”
This indicates that Johnson is dispelling the rumors, and given that he also signed a side NIL agreement with EA Sports to promote the game, I fully anticipate Johnson to be on the field for Michigan football in real life as well as EA Sports College Football 25.
