Michigan quarterback Jack Tuttle has spent six years on college football sidelines, dating back to a redshirt year in 2018 with Utah.
According to Andrew Kahn of MLive on Thursday morning, the seasoned signal-caller is currently attempting to return for a seventh season.
During a media availability following the Wolverines’ 34–13 victory over Washington in the national championship, Tuttle stated, “It depends.””We’ll observe the situation. I believe I’ll get the chance to. It’s still being worked on. Right now, I’m savoring this moment.”
Tuttle intended to join Michigan’s staff if his waiver was denied, according to Clayton Sayfie of On3.
With Michigan’s opening at quarterback, backup Jack Tuttle is pursuing a seventh year of college eligiblity.
Only three times in his extensive college career has Tuttle reached the four-game mark: once with Indiana in 2019 and once with the Wolverines in ’23 while serving as star J.J. McCarthy’s backup.
Due to injuries, Tuttle’s 2022 season ended after just one game, and in the pandemic-shortened 2020 season, he only appeared in three games for the Hoosiers.
On August 31, Michigan, which is still waiting on the status of its NFL-curious head coach Jim Harbaugh, takes on Fresno State in the 2024 season opener.
