Chargers fans get massive Jim Harbaugh update that they’ve been waiting for
Ever since the LA Chargers fired Brandon Staley following a 63-21 loss the biggest elephant in the room has been Jim Harbaugh. Harbaugh quickly emerged as the fanbase’s preferred candidate and that desire only grew when Harbaugh’s Michigan Wolverines won the National Championship.
Harbaugh has been teasing a comeback to the NFL for years, but he hasn’t had a position as good as this one with the Chargers. It’s not an ideal job, but taking over a team that features a young, franchise quarterback who is rated among the top five in the NFL is not something that happens very often. Harbaugh is said to adore Justin Herbert and is aware of this.
In order to fill the head coaching position, the Chargers began to schedule interviews when Michigan was getting ready for and winning the National Championship. Since Harbaugh was clearly busy throughout the first half of January, he was not included in the initial list of contenders.
That, however, is finally changing as Chargers fans have finally gotten the Jim Harbaugh update that they’ve been waiting for. Harbaugh is reportedly going to meet with the Chargers this week, which will kickstart a process that (hopefully) results in him becoming the head coach.
Jim Harbaugh coaching the Chargers finally has real legs after confirmed interview
Although Harbaugh’s interview with the Chargers is a significant first step, it does not guarantee that he will lead the team. Even if he might merely use this as leverage to obtain more from Michigan, it does demonstrate genuine interest and validate the months-long rumors.
In addition to this wonderful Harbaugh update, Ian Rapoport sprinkled the frosting on the cake in the second half of the video above. Several Raiders players who will bat for Antonio Pierce in the offseason are opposed to the ownership selecting a new head coach. If the Raiders were to employ someone else, Maxx Crosby might ask for a trade because of how strong the support is.
As the captain of the locker room and the face of the franchise, Crosby There will undoubtedly be significant repercussions for the entire locker room if Pierce is not hired, especially if he is prepared to ask for a trade as a result.
This definitely favors the Chargers as the Raiders have been seen as the top NFL competitor for Harbaugh. The fact that no one in Vegas wants Pierce to go is fantastic news for the Bolts, even though Los Angeles still has to contend with Michigan.
