‘World class’… Sky Sports pundit says Tottenham have a   player who they won’t be able to replace

The January transfer window is now open, and one team that may need to be active is Tottenham Hotspur.

Currently sitting just three points off the top of the Premier League standings, the north London club is in a terrific position, but Ange Postecoglou’s team may find this month challenging.

In fact, the Spurs will soon lose three important players to outside leagues.

Heung-Min Son is scheduled to travel to the Asian Cup, Pape Matar Sarr and Yves Bissouma to the African Cup of Nations.

Clinton Morrison, who has been addressing Son’s upcoming absence from this Tottenham squad, stated on Sky Sports (31/12/23 1:23 PM) that Spurs actually won’t be able to replace the South Korean.

Son is irreplaceable

Morrison gave his verdict on the £22m man.

“You need Maddison back sooner than later. Van de Ven isn’t a million miles away, any team in the world would miss Son, Son is world-class. Son is an outstanding footballer, you can’t replace Son, but what you can do, you can have everyone contribute,” Morrison said.

Son is incredible

This is the risk associated with having a player as vital to your squad as Son.

Naturally, having a player with this level of quality in your lineup is fantastic, but having one person who contributes significantly to your goals when they aren’t available for selection is negative.

Without Son, how will Tottenham manage? Well, Richarlison’s recent discovery of his shooting touch helps, and their chances of scoring should also be enhanced by Manor Solomon’s comeback in the upcoming weeks.

Although Son is a difficult player to replace, there should still be plenty of goals scored by this Spurs team even without Son.
