Swap deal: Tottenham ready to offload 28 y/o in transfer to sign “special” new defender for Ange
Tottenham Hotspur may need to look to the January transfer window for answers after recent Premier League results revealed their lack of depth in the team. Early in the season, the Lilywhites under Ange Postecoglou demonstrated their abilities, but a 4-1 loss to Chelsea signaled the first signs of trouble.
Due to Cristian Romero’s most recent injury, North London has very few options at the center of their defense, which may lead them to sign a certain player. According to reports, the Lilywhites are reportedly prepared to give something up to seal the deal.
Tottenham transfer news
Postecoglou recently spoke about Spurs’ need for a centre-back in January, saying: “When you think about it. we let Davinson Sanchez go after the window closed. We kind of knew we were taking a bit of a risk; we couldn’t get the
We were hoping to bring in an extra center-back, and that worked out well in the first part of the season. But we are without a center back after we lost Micky [van de Ven] and Eric Dier had some problems.
Young Ash Phillips had recently joined the club, so it’s safe to assume that we can’t take the chance of it occurring once more. As a result, that will undoubtedly be our first focus in January. Again, though, we must select the best candidate. It’s important to get the correct person in, which should happen, rather than just bringing another body in.

Having said that, Tottenham Hotspur News reports that the team is ready to trade Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg to Fulham in order to get center-back Tosin Adarabioyo in January. With just six months remaining on his Craven Cottage deal, the central defender may leave the team early if Fulham accepts Spurs’ possible offer of Hojbjerg extra money.
“Special” Adarabioyo could add much-needed depth to Spurs’ backline
Take Romero and Van de Ven out and Spurs are left with just one senior centre-back in the form of Ben Davies, who’s spent the majority of his career as a left-back. And whilst Spurs’ deal for Radu Dragusin may be progressing, they could still do with one more option, making Adarabioyo an equally important target this month.
Fulham boss Marco Silva is certainly a fan of his central defender, saying: “He is a key player for us. He is one of the leaders in our dressing room and we need these guys to step in in the right moments and he did it. We missed
We really missed him for the first three months of the season since he wasn’t on the field. We value Tosin as a special player, and I can’t disguise that.
He is a great player for me because of his ability to defend the box as well as play the manner I want to, which is by building (from the back). We have missed him over the past three months, but in the four or five games that he has played, his performance has steadily improved. He gave a fantastic performance against Everton, and he deserves all the credit for being able to make the final decision that decided the outcome of the match.
