BREAKING: Buffalo Bills Linebacker Slapped with Fine for Hit Against Dallas Cowboys Quarterback Dak Prescott Last Sunday – Week 16

Last Sunday, the Buffalo Bills trounced the Dallas Cowboys, defeating the NFC East leaders 31-10. But for a hit on Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott, Bills linebacker Tyrell Dodson has to submit a cheque to the NFL and Roger Goodell. Dodson was fined $11,167 by the league for hitting the Cowboys signal-caller helmet-to-helmet, according to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.


Additionally, Buffalo Bills safety Taylor Rapp earned himself a $21,855 fine for a separate play. They are the first Buffalo players to receive a fine since Cam Lewis in Week 14.

Tyrel Dodson of the Bills, who hit quarterback Dak Prescott of the Dallas Cowboys in Week 15, will be fined $11,167. In the second quarter, Prescott took off running. Dodson threw himself into the runner, making helmet-to-helmet contact with Prescott despite giving up on a feet-first slide. Due to an unwarranted roughness penalty, Dodson was given an automatic first down. Brandon Aubrey, the Cowboys’ kicker, completed the drive with a 37-yard field goal. The Bills, on the other hand, dominated and prevailed 31–10.

Dodson, an undrafted free agent from Texas A&M, has spent his entire four-year NFL career with the Buffalo Bills.

During his 10 games as a rookie in 2020, Dodson recorded 22 tackles and two TFLs. In spite of participating in 16 games, he only recorded 15 tackles in 2021, a decline in production. After recording 32 tackles with the Bills in 2022, he was reduced to a reserve starting position the following season.

In 2023, Dodson is having a career year. He has already started seven games as a linebacker this season, more than double his previous career high. With sixty-three tackles, six TFLs, and 1.5 sacks, he has rewarded the Bills. At linebacker, the six-foot-237-pound second-level defender starts next to Terrel Bernard and Dane Jackson.
