DALLAS COWBOYS

2025 NFL mock draft: Cowboys address critical position, per CBS Sports

Here’s the part where we tell you this is way too early and all that. But still, here’s a great look into where the Cowboys might be headed next year.

Yes, we had a draft just now. Yes, the draft is still a topic of discussion. Yes, we will also take a minute to make a point regarding the draft for the following year. Because the Cowboys will select their next franchise quarterback in that draft, according to Ryan Wilson of CBS Sports.

Wilson calculated the selection order as the reverse of 1-32 of the current Super Bowl favorites using odds from Caesar’s Sportsbook. The Cowboys will select Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe with the 25th overall pick in that selection.

Maybe a hint at what lies ahead for Dak Prescott. Perhaps it’s just a case of the greatest player available. Or perhaps it’s just a fascinating method to see how the prospects for the following year appear 364 days or so before the next draft.

It seems reasonable that no one had Michael Penix going No. 8 to Atlanta, so it’s not like the accuracy expectations on a mock draft should be extremely strict. However, it seems more likely that Milroe, given his push from the previous season and the athetic makeup Wilson mentioned, will be gone well before No. 25.

However, he would undoubtedly be a top prospect, particularly behind the offensive line the Cowboys are now developing.
