A few Dallas Cowboys supporters took their frustrations too far following their team’s Sunday loss to the Buffalo Bills, as Cowboys safeties Jayron Kearse and Juanyeh Thomas were doxxed by fans on social media.
The Cowboys were crushed by three scores against the Bills at Highmark Stadium in Orchard Park, N.Y.
The Bills came into the contest as the hungrier team looking to keep their postseason hopes alive — and it
transpired in such manner. The Cowboys were behind 31-3 in the fourth quarter, but a late touchdown cut the score to a more manageable 31-10.
Following the loss, several Cowboys supporters took exception with the two members of their secondary.
Kearse vented his annoyance on X following a penalty he was given against the Bills in the second quarter. As soon as Kearse attempted to tackle Bills wide receiver Khalil Shakir, he was called for needless roughness.
The Bills led the Cowboys 21-3 at the half after a drive that was aided by the penalty and ended in a score for Buffalo.
Some fans lambasted Kearse on his own post on X. Thomas also replied to the post in an attempt to defend his
colleague. In response, a few fans erased their remarks, disclosing Kearse’s residential location and Thomas’ phone number.
Thomas said to Dallas Morning News reporter Calvin Watkins, “I can take criticism.” However, there is a genuine boundary that you cross when you begin acting foolishly in that way. You have to draw a boundary when it comes to disclosing personal information like phone numbers and addresses. It’s still a game at the end of the day. Individuals have lives.
Thomas acknowledged that throughout the game, he did miss three tackles. However, a few slip-ups on the football field shouldn’t have any negative real-world effects on any athlete.
