Daniel Levy compromise predicted for Tottenham and Everton talks over Dele Alli after multi-million snub
Alan Hutton is confident that Tottenham and Everton will come to an agreement regarding Dele Alli, allowing the midfield player to restart his stagnant career at Goodison Park.
Because Everton will have to pay Spurs £10 million after Dele makes 20 appearances for the team, the 27-year-old is currently wasting away there. But after losing 10 points to the Premier League last month, Everton is taking great care to ensure they don’t break any more profit and sustainability regulations.
The financially strapped Toffees have attempted to work out a different agreement with Spurs where they would not have to pay as much. Currently, the former England midfielder is limited to 13 games.
According to a story published in The Times on December 9th, Tottenham has decided to reduce the £10 million fee to £8 million. But it is recognized that less than 20 appearances would set that off.
That Spurs offer has reportedly been turned down by Everton.
Hutton anticipates seeing Daniel Levy return to action soon, and despite his tough businessman persona, the former Spurs right-back believes the two Premier League clubs will work out a compromise.
“Considering what’s going on with him, it’s a fair deal,” Hutton stated to the Toronto News.
“He’s had a lot of hardships lately, and you just want to see him play again to put this all behind him.
“He must be working very hard at it. He has struggled to recover from injuries, lost confidence and form, and now he has to worry about potentially not being able to play because his team will have to pay millions of dollars if he plays a certain number of games.
“Having said that, I am aware of how Tottenham operates, and Daniel Levy is an excellent businessman.” He won’t give someone away for free, that much is certain.
“They just need to come to an agreement in the middle, and it will get resolved.”
“I think that will happen eventually, but hopefully for Dele Alli, it will happen soon.”
