GOOD NEWS :Kaizer Chiefs are set to secure these key stars with new contracts

Kaizer Chiefs are set to secure key players with new contracts as the club aims to strengthen its squad for the upcoming season.

Kaizer Chiefs are set to secure key stars with new contracts, as per source.

Chiefs aim to secure midfielder Yusuf Maart with a new contract as his current three-year deal approaches its expiration in June. A club insider revealed that the 29-year-old Maart is in line for a new two-year contract.

“Coach (Nasreddine) Nabi is happy with Maart’s contribution and considers him as one of the leaders in the team, so he has recommended that the club give him a new deal,” the source disclosed. “I hear it’s a two-year deal with an option to renew for a further year.”

Since joining Amakhosi from Sekhukhune United in July 2022, Maart has established himself as a key player. In his debut season, he made 34 appearances across all competitions, netting four goals and providing two assists. This season, he has featured in all five matches, contributing one goal during a dominant 4-0 victory over SuperSport United in the Carling Knockout.

NJABULO BLOM’S FUTURE WITH CHIEFS LOOKS BRIGHT

In addition to Maart, Kaizer Chiefs are eager to retain Njabulo Blom, who has recently returned to the club on loan from St. Louis City SC. Sources close to the team indicate that the club is determined to keep the Soweto-born midfielder once his loan expires in June.

Blom’s significance has increased following Edson Castillo’s injury, which will sideline him for approximately five months. This makes Blom’s presence even more crucial as Chiefs navigate the rest of the season. Insiders state that both the scouting department and the technical team value Blom and are keen to include him in their plans for next season.

“It’s a combined feeling at the club that they would still need Njabulo (Blom) next season,” the source shared. “The coach made it clear when he came. That he has an important role to play at the club, and that’s why they are looking at keeping him beyond the loan deal which expires in June.”

However, the decision ultimately rests on whether St. Louis City will agree to let him go. For now, Chiefs are willing to work hard to ensure Blom remains a part of their future plans.

With contract negotiations underway, fans will be eager to see how these developments unfold in the coming months.
