Jaylen Brown’s Pregame Message to Celtics Teammates Dissed City of Cleveland

The Boston Celtics took a 2-1 conference semifinals series lead over the Cleveland Cavaliers on Saturday night after their 106–93 win.

The Cavaliers’ victory in that game in Boston changed the tide of the series, favoring the Celtics in Game 3. By defeating the Cavaliers in Cleveland, the Celtics exacted some payback.

Actually, Jaylen Brown, the guard for the Boston Celtics, gave his teammates some motivation by biting back at Cleveland. Brown wanted his players to know that winning the series is the team’s top priority and that Cleveland is not a place to take a vacation.

Brown addressed his teammates, saying, “We’re not here to play around.” “We didn’t come to Cleveland for the weather, so let’s go.”

Brown heeded his own words, as he poured in 28 points, nine rebounds, and three assists to help lead Boston to victory. The Celtics will need to continue in this mindset heading into Game 4 if they want to take a 3–1 lead and sweep the two games in Cleveland. Game 4 tips off at 7 p.m. ET on Monday.
