Paul Merson predicts result of West Ham United ‘headline’ clash v Luton Town in David Moyes admission

West Ham United will stretch their winless run in all competitions to seven matches when they face Luton Town on Saturday 11 May, according to Paul Merson.

The Sky Sports analyst predicts Luton to draw 1-1 and earn a crucial point in the relegation struggle, meaning the Hammers will not be able to celebrate David Moyes’ final game at the London Stadium with a victory.

Before the season’s last game, Merson thinks Rob Edwards’s Hatters, who are two points behind Nottingham Forest in 17th position, will have to settle for a point in order to get out of the dropzone.

He stated, “Luton have to win this football match, if they don’t they are virtually relegated,” in a piece for Sportskeeda on Thursday, May 9. To stay up, they must win their next two games by a minimum of four points. With West Ham’s current form, this is the ideal time to play them.
