Crimson Tide fans get an up-close first look at the Kalen DeBoer era
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (WBRC) – More than 70,000 fans packed the stands inside Bryant-Denny Stadium Saturday afternoon for Alabama football’s A-Day as they were able to receive an up-close first look at the Kalen DeBoer era.
The offense shined throughout the scrimmage, especially the backfield, behind running backs Justice Haynes and Jam Miller. Quarterback Jalen Milroe hit a few deep throws against what coach DeBoer said was a pretty vanilla defensive scheme in the scrimmage to keep things light.
Defensively, the Crimson Tide came alive late and closed the gap, but the offense did not have any turnovers, which is something coach DeBoer said has been a positive storyline all throughout spring, as the offense claimed the win, 34-28.
“Seeing the guys come on the Walk of Champions, just seeing that and feeling the energy and the excitement of what it’d be on a Saturday, that was a lot of fun,” DeBoer said.
Steak dinners all around for the offense while the defense enjoys the traditional can of beans. The Crimson Tide head into the summer preparing for game one in the fall set for August 31 at home against Western Kentucky University.
