While Sherrone Moore works to finalize his coaching staff, the first-year Michigan coach has set a date for the spring game.
The national champion Wolverines will take the field at Michigan Stadium at Noon on Saturday, April 20, for an open-to-the-public event in Ann Arbor, it was announced Thursday by the program.
No other details were made available, but the spring game will mark the first time fans can see the Michigan team on the field since the national championship win over Washington in January.
Much has happened since then, of course, with more than a dozen players having declared for the NFL draft and Jim Harbaugh named the next head coach of the NFL’s Los Angeles Chargers.
Michigan expects to bring back several key playmakers on offense, including running back Donovan Edwards and tight end Colston Loveland, and a good chunk of the nation’s No. 1-ranked defense.
Who will be coaching those players? That remains a question mark, with Moore still trying to fill most of the defensive staff.
In the meantime, Michigan wants you to save the date for the annual spring game. Look for more details in the coming weeks. The Wolverines are expected to begin spring practice in March.
