Cristian Romero now reacts after news coming out of Tottenham ahead of Man City clash
Tottenham Hotspur fans received some great news this week – James Maddison is back – and Cristian Romero seems absolutely delighted.
This season, injuries haven’t gone well for the Spurs, have they? Throughout the campaign, they have been without several of their main players, Maddison being the most likely casualty. He is now available for tonight’s match against Manchester City.
Cristian Romero reacts after James Maddison returns to Tottenham training
Tottenham have been without James Maddison since their defeat against Chelsea back in November.
The Englishman suffered an ankle injury that was initially not thought to be serious. However, Spurs’ worst fears came true after a scan, and he hasn’t played since.
Earlier this week, Maddison resumed full training with the team, and yesterday, during his press conference, Ange Postecoglou declared that the playmaker is ready to play.
For Spurs supporters, that is fantastic news, and vice captain Cristian Romero seemed happy that his partner is back in shape.
Prior to tonight’s crucial matchup with Manchester City, Maddison shared a photo of Romero and himself on Instagram Story with the caption, “Matchday – 1.”
“Topmadd back!” the Argentine posted after reposting that to his own Instagram Story.
Maddison’s return is a huge boost for Spurs
Tottenham take on Manchester City in the FA Cup tonight in what is a massive game.
Spurs are desperate to bring an end to their trophy drought, and the FA Cup is their most realistic chance of winning silverware this season.
Manchester City are always a tough side to face, but Spurs have an incredible record against the champions, especially at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Ange Postecoglou will hope their good run continues tonight, and James Maddison’s return is a massive boost for them. If he has a good game, Spurs could knock City out.
