Team 144 has just accomplished the greatest season in Michigan football history, obtaining a 15-0 record, a Big Ten Championship, a Rose Bowl triumph, and a national title. Players that are eligible for the draft must now decide whether to return to school or take their skills to the NFL now that the season is officially finished. Michigan football stars Zak Zinter and Junior Colson declare for the NFL Draft
The 2024 NFL Draft will be an exciting one for Michigan fans, as this year’s roster has the potential to set the NFL Draft record for most players taken from a college in a single year. Among the players going into the draft will be left guard Zak Zinter and linebacker Junior Colson.
Since 2020, Zinter has been a starter lineman for the Wolverines, and he just won a national championship to cap off his final year. Zinter broke both his tibia and fibula during the Ohio State game in 2023, which prevented him from playing the rest of the season.
Zinter, though, intends to fully recover and compete in the NFL the following season. Zinter is presently expected to be a day two selection pick, per NFL selection Buzz.
Junior Colson, a middle linebacker, is drafted alongside Zinter. As a four-star recruit, Colson signed to Michigan and became an instant starter in his rookie year.
Colson received the Lott IMPACT Trophy and was an All-Big Ten linebacker this season as a junior. Colson is presently expected to be selected early in the third round of the draft.
