Paul Merson now predicts who will win this weekend between Manchester United and Tottenham

Paul Merson has now given his prediction for this weekend’s massive Premier League clash between Manchester United and Tottenham.

Both sides have a chance to make some serious ground in the race for top-four at Old Trafford, with United and Tottenham looking to edge their way into the UEFA Champions League debate.

And writing for Sportskeeda, pundit Merson has now delivered his prediction for the clash, with the former Arsenal man going for a draw in Manchester between the two sides.

Merson said: “If Tottenham win this, they’ll leapfrog Arsenal in the table, meaning the Gunners drop out of the

top four. It’s hard to believe that Mikel Arteta’s club, who was the team to beat and atop the table just three weeks ago, might be as low as fifth when the action ends this weekend.

Conversely, Manchester United trails Arsenal by nine points and will have to work hard to qualify for the UEFA Champions League the following year. They haven’t been reliable this season, therefore they need to win this game to have any hope of placing in the top four.

Manchester United is extremely unpredictable, but one thing is certain: when things are tough, they usually turn up. I’m expecting a ton of goals in this one and would be surprised if

Tottenham can make a statement with Manchester United result

As Merson indicated, a victory over United on Sunday would move Tottenham past their rivals from North London, Arsenal, and into the top four.

A result like that would significantly upend both the competition for the Premier League title, with Mikel Arteta’s team vying for the top spot this year, and the contest for the top four.

And a victory at Old Trafford may be game-changing for Tottenham, given that a lot of supporters and commentators have virtually written off Ange Postecoglou’s team’s chances of success this season following a recent slump in play.
