Ange Postecoglou shares six-word answer when asked if Spurs player could now sign for West Ham

Tottenham Hotspur boss Ange Postecoglou claims he has ‘no idea’ whether defender Eric Dier will be leaving for West Ham United this month.

Tottenham headed into the January transfer window with one blatant need – a new centre back.

Despite their excellent collaboration, Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven are presently sidelined due to injuries.

Tottenham’s defense is seriously lacking in depth, and a new player may be joining the team soon.

According to HITC Sport, Spurs are attempting to complete a deal for Radu Dragusin, a center back for Genoa, that would cost about £25 million.

Dragusin might make room for Eric Dier to leave Tottenham and provide them another defensive alternative.

Ange Postecoglou comments on Eric Dier to West Ham United rumours

Dier’s Tottenham contract is coming to an end, and it seems likely that he will depart the team this month or in the summer.

Despite Spurs’ injury concerns, the 29-year-old has just started one Premier League game this season and is still not being used.

Dier’s future is being openly discussed by Ange Postecoglou, indicating that he does not wish to rely on Dier for support.

Only a few days ago, Football Transfers revealed that Dier is being pursued by West Ham United for a signing this month.

When pressed explicitly about Dier joining West Ham, Postecoglou says he has “no idea” if a transaction will actually happen.

“I have no idea. Not on my agenda,” Postecoglou remarked.

As he nears the conclusion of his contract, Postecoglou appears to be delegating the decision to Dier.

Dier has the option to finish out his contract and likely be the fifth or perhaps sixth choice at center back.

Dier might want to hold off until he’s a free agent in order to potentially sign for a sizable sum of money and have his selection of teams.

Though it doesn’t appear that a new contract is imminent, West Ham might have a genuine chance to negotiate if they make an official offer.
