Report: Tottenham defender is having a ‘complete nightmare’ out on loan
Japhet Tanganga’s time at Augsburg has been dubbed a “complete nightmare” by Football.London in their weekly update on the Tottenham players out on loan. The defender has not yet played for the Bundesliga team.
Tanganga had secured a loan move to Augsburg in the summer, and he would have wanted to put his career back on track there after a trying few years at Spurs, when he was passed over by successive managers.
But the 24-year-old’s ongoing medical issues kept him from accomplishing so at the beginning of the season, as the young player missed the first few months of the season due to a knee ailment.
Japhet Tanganga continues to be overlooked
Tanganga eventually got back to full fitness at the beginning of November, but Augsburg manager Jess Thorup hasn’t stopped ignoring him since.
Tanganga has not been able to push his way into the starting lineup because the team is performing better than anticipated so far this season, now occupying 10th place in the Bundesliga table.
The graduate of Tottenham’s academy was once again left out of Augsburg’s matchday lineup for their 1-1 draw with Borussia Dortmund at home on Saturday.
As previously revealed by Kitcher two weeks ago, Tanganga’s loan with Spurs may be terminated in January.
Tanganga’s comeback was a month and a half ago, therefore it is obvious that his ineligibility had nothing to do with his physical condition.
The Spurs youth seems to be undervalued by Jess Thorup, as seen by the likelihood that the 24-year-old will be recalled in January and loaned to another team.

According to the Turkish newspaper Takvim, a board member from the massive Turkish team Fenerbahce flew to Tottenham to discuss the potential of a move for Eric Dier. The 29-year-old’s deal expires in the summer. It’s improbable that an extension will be signed.
In his three years with the Lilywhites (Transfermarkt), Dier has made 363 appearances. He joined the team in 2014. The English defender has fulfilled his responsibility as a dependable anchor for the defensive line.
His time with the team appears to be coming to an end, though, as Tottenham Hotspur has initiated transfer negotiations with Turkish club Fenerbahce. Dier may depart as soon as January arrives if a sizable offer is offered.
The English defender has been sidelined a lot; Postecoglou has occasionally played fullback instead of sticking with Dier, the traditional center-back. Now that Ben Davies and Cristian Romero are back, Dier, 29, will drop further in the rankings. Dier can benefit from a change of scenery; he might be too traditional for Postecoglou’s style, but the Turkish style of football should suit him well. The Lilywhites have been looking for a center-back for a while, so it’s likely that Dier won’t be sold until a replacement has been found. Postecoglou cannot afford to risk further depleting his roster.
It is possible that the 29-year-old will not be let to leave for nothing by the Tottenham board members. which, should they let his contract to expire, he will do.
The Spurs are expected to play aggressively in January by the fans. It is extremely possible to sign a CB and offload Dier at the same time. When Postecoglou prepares to challenge for the Premier League championship, he will not spare any detail.
