Ivan Toney, a striker for Brentford, is rumored to be moving to North London, and Alan Hutton would love for Tottenham to sign him during the January transfer window.

Ange Postecoglou is “optimistic” about adding a new center-forward next month, and 27-year-old Toney is being considered by Spurs, Chelsea, and Arsenal, according to a Sunday, December 10, Mirror article.

Toney’s eight-month ban from football wagering is set to expire on January 16th, so he will be available for Brentford’s use during the second half of the season, or whoever signs him in January, assuming that occurs.

Hutton thinks Spurs will prevail in the competition to sign the former Newcastle striker. The former right-back acknowledges that there may be financial difficulties with a potential trade.

“I believe he will be the top target, but I believe he will be for several clubs.” He’s a goal scorer with experience,” Hutton told Tottenham News.

“He’s there to score goals; that’s what he does; he works hard for the team, runs in behind, and covers center backs. He is an incredible goal scorer and appears to be a nightmare for opposing defenders.

If Tottenham could afford to spend the money on him, he would unquestionably improve the team. That guy is the one we are referring to, but many teams will be seeking for someone of his caliber.

All that will matter is the asking price and Tottenham’s willingness to pay it. We will need to wait and observe.

On November 1st, Sky Sports revealed that Brentford is seeking £100 million for Toney in the event that they decide to sell him during the January transfer window.

The former England international has made 68 Premier League games and scored 32 goals.
