Agent plays down potential January sale of rumoured Spurs central defensive target
The agent of Radu Dragusin has handed Tottenham a potential blow by suggesting that a move away from Genoa is only likely to be on the cards next summer.
According to a TEAMtalk story earlier this week, Ange Postecoglou’s club is apparently ready to step up their chase of the Romanian international ahead of the January transfer window.
According to the site, the center back is worth approximately £26 million, and the Lilywhites are willing to spend that amount to acquire him for N17.
Dragusin is unlikely to leave in January
Nevertheless, Dragusin’s representative Florin Manea seems to be ruling out a move for his client until following the European Championship in Germany the following summer.
He disclosed that although the former Juventus player has had contact from prospective clubs, no club has made a bid to acquire him as of yet.
“I can say that there have been contacts, because he’s a player that several clubs like,” Dragusin said to TuttoJuve in response to questions regarding the rumors surrounding his future. “At the moment, there are no official offers,” he said.
“He wants to play for Genoa until the end of the season, after which he wants to concentrate on the Euros with his country. To understand how things can change, we will assess the situation and have a conversation with the club.In spite of Manea’s remarks, one would assume that if Tottenham showed interest in Radu Dragusin the following month, his head would turn. Additionally, Genoa is unlikely to reject a bid of around £30 million for the 21-year-old, as the North Londoners have already demonstrated their defensive shortcomings by not having Cristian Romero or Micky van de Ven available for action.
