Ange Postecoglou says one Tottenham Hotspur star has more goals in him
Ange Postecoglou thinks Brennan Johnson has the capacity to find the back of the net with regularity and hopes that his strike against Wolves will give the winger the required confidence in front of goal.
At Molineux, Tottenham got off to the perfect start as Johnson displayed excellent awareness to get goal-side of Nelson Semedo. The Welshman then produced a brilliant finish after Pedro Porro picked him up with a well timed move.
But from then on, the away team’s fortunes only worsened as Wolves continued to press their advantage, finally reaping the rewards in stoppage time when two rapid goals condemned Spurs to a second straight defeat.
Johnson told Spurs Play that the players were heartbroken by the manner of the defeat but acknowledged that they couldn’t be too upset about the outcome.

The 22-year-old’s first goal for the team has been seen positively by Postecoglou, who expressed his optimism that the player can now go forward following a turbulent start to his Tottenham career.
Johnson’s confidence may have increased as a result of the goal, the Australian said (via the team’s official website): “I hope so.” It is not the exclusive metric. He’s one of the players who, in my opinion, could have contributed a little more to our cause in the first half, but Brennan hasn’t really got a clear shot at it.
He’s had a really rough start to his career for us, but I believe that the more opportunities we can give him, the more potential he has.
Although he hasn’t played much football since the beginning of the season, you could tell that he ran out of legs near the end. Still, he has more of a goal threat in him.
Johnson may have had his greatest game ever while wearing a Spurs jersey during the first thirty minutes of the match against Wolves. The 22-year-old will improve as he becomes more comfortable with the system and discovers the advantages and disadvantages of his new colleagues.
