‘What a player’: Son Heung-min and James Maddison react to news about Tottenham 25-year-old

Tottenham Hotspur star Son Heung-min has reacted to the news that Cristian Romero has been nominated for the Premier League Player of the Month award.

Spurs have been on fire this season. Son and James Maddison have been earning a ton of plaudits, but the one player who also deserves immense praise is World Cup winner Romero.

Tottenham’s Heung-min Son reacts to Cristian Romero’s POTM nomination

The Premier League released their nominees for the Player of the Month award for performances in October, and Tottenham star Cristian Romero made the cut.

This season, the Argentine has excelled for Spurs. He and Micky van de Ven have developed a fantastic back-court connection that has strengthened his team’s defense.

Romero has always been an excellent defender, but his most recent year wearing a Tottenham uniform was forgettable. He was called irresponsible on several occasions, and he deserved part of the criticism that he received.

But the 25-year-old has hardly missed a beat this season, and given his October achievements, he well deserves to be considered for the Premier League Player of the Month title.

You already know how James Maddison responded to yesterday’s news. Spurs captain Son Heung-min has now spoken his opinion.

“What a player,” he wrote on his Instagram Story.

Tottenham star Romero faces tough competition

After his outstanding efforts in October, Cristian Romero will be considered deserving of the Player of the Month title by every Tottenham supporter.

The Argentine must contend with fierce competition, though, as Declan Rice of Arsenal, Mohamed Salah of Liverpool, and Douglas Luiz of Aston Villa are also among the nominees.

While Salah scored five goals in three games last month, Rice was perhaps Arsenal’s finest player in October. Despite being a defensive midfielder, Luiz scored two goals for the team of Unai Emery.

Though it will be intriguing to watch who takes home the prize, if Romero does, no one will be upset.
