Pundit argues that Harry Kane has already stepped up his game from Spurs days
According to Tony Cascarino, Harry Kane has improved in the short space of time since leaving Tottenham, and looks more physically imposing than ever before.
Let’s face it, Harry Kane was a fairly decent player for Spurs. The iconic striker, who progressed through the Tottenham system to become the club’s all-time leading scorer, will always be revered by the supporters.
After months of rumors, Kane decided to leave Spurs and transfer to Bayern Munich for a significant sum of money at the beginning of August. Initially costing £86 million, the contract to sign the England captain might eventually exceed £100 million (Sky Sports).
Since moving to Germany, Kane has enjoyed great success. In his first ten games for the Bundesliga champions, the forward had nine goals and five assists (Transfermarkt).
He also added to his international goal total earlier this week, scoring twice when England defeated Italy 3-1 to clinch qualification for the European Championships next summer.
Is Harry Kane better than ever?
After the game, Cascarino praised former Tottenham striker Kane profusely and discussed how the 30-year-old has evolved recently.
“I have never seen Kane look as physically imposing as he did against Italy,” he remarked to The Times. He was using incredible upper body power to repel opposing defenders, and on the rare occasions an Italy player came near enough to shoulder barge him, he barely moved.
Although he has never been simple to push off the ball, Kane’s physicality during this performance was an improvement over his time with Tottenham Hotspur. He hasn’t been with Bayern Munich long enough, though, for this change to be entirely the result of his relocation to Germany.
In his early years in Germany, Kane has been on fire, and it doesn’t appear like he will slow down anytime soon. I believe it’s perfectly normal for a player like Kane to display signs of growth after switching leagues and facing new challenges.
