Harry Kane outlines his Tottenham Premier League title hope and whether he regrets leaving

The England captain still has plenty of love for his old team and has been delighted by Tottenham’s start to the Premier League campaign

Harry Kane acknowledges that Tottenham Hotspur is the only team he would root for to win the Premier League this year.

Despite games against teams like Manchester United, Arsenal, and Liverpool in that stretch, Ange Postecoglou has pushed Spurs up the table to the top. In their first eight matches of the league, they are unbeaten, with six wins and two draws.When asked on England duty this week if he would be pleased to see Spurs go on and surprise everyone and win the title, Kane, who left the club in the summer to join Bayern Munich, reacted without any hesitation.

“I have made it clear my whole career I am a Tottenham fan and I would love to see Tottenham do well,” he stated. Spurs are performing fairly well. It’s wonderful to see. The manager is doing a terrific job for them with the manner they are playing, as I believe I’ve said before.

“The fans are solidly behind the squad, and after the previous several years, it’s definitely what they needed. I’ll continue to follow Tottenham and the Premier League. There is still a long way to go, but as the manager noted, there is no reason why the supporters shouldn’t be enthusiastic and pleased with how things are progressing. I’m hoping they can go on. Tottenham is the only team in the Premier League that I would like to win.

There is no doubt in the fans’ minds that I will always have a warm place for Spurs, but I must focus solely on Bayern Munich in order to make us as successful as possible, he continued. In addition, I must show respect to Bayern Munich.

“Therefore, I am certain that there will be inquiries, especially when Tottenham is performing well. Of course, I wish them the best of luck, but right now, my focus is on trying to do well for Bayern where I am.

Despite the need to adjust to the Bundesliga and the German powerhouses, Kane has simply continued where he left off, scoring nine goals and dishing out five assists in nine games.

Spurs’ all-time record goalscorer admits he is not one to look back at any potential regrets on missing out on what Postecoglou is doing at his old club.

“I was there for so long and all my friends are still there, even the coaches and staff, so sometimes it’s a little bit strange,” he stated. However, when you embark on a new adventure in life or football, you are focused and pay attention to that.

“I’m attempting to look for housing, pick up the local tongue, and get to know my new Bayern Munich teammates and staff. Your focus is simply diverted. Perhaps at first it seemed strange to see them play while I was absent. I must focus solely on Bayern Munich in order to maximize our chances of success.

“I’m here, I’m thrilled, and this will always be a choice I never second-guess. I’m pleased with how I began out.

“In terms of the start, I’ve been really happy,” he continued. When you join a new club, there is usually a little extra pressure because of the expectation that you will perform immediately, score goals, and start winning. However, this isn’t always the case.

“There are many additional factors involved in a transfer, including, as I’ve already mentioned, just the personal ones like looking for housing, staying in hotels, and being separated from my family. I’m not used to any of it. I’m quite proud of being able to have started out the way I have.

“Of course, I always felt like I had more opportunities to score goals, and I definitely could have done so. However, in general, I would have accepted it if you had told me before the transfer that this is what I would be on, given the number of goals and assists and victories, so I am definitely delighted with that.
