‘He’s been impatient’ – Ange Postecoglou provides update on Alejo Veliz

Ange Postecoglou has revealed that Alejo Veliz took part in a Tottenham Hotspur first-team training session for the first time yesterday since joining the club earlier in the summer.

Tottenham is thought to have paid a fee in the neighborhood of £12 million for Veliz to join Ange Postecoglou’s team after he made 62 appearances and scored 19 goals across all competitions for Rosario since his debut in 2021 (Daily Mail).

In a press conference today before the Premier League match against Sheffield United at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium tomorrow afternoon, Postecoglou explained that the striker, who turns 20 next week, has been injured and has had a delayed start to life at Tottenham.

Alejo Veliz is available for selection for Spurs

After signing the forward, Postecoglou said last month that it would take some time for him to adjust and that he didn’t expect to see much action with the first team in the early going (Fabrizio Romano).

The Australian has now disclosed that Veliz is now accessible as part of his future plans after resolving the problem.

Alejo is finally on the field, which is fantastic, he said, according to Football.London.

“Yesterday was his first session. He has been impatiently anticipating beginning. It was beneficial to have him involved yesterday, and he will continue to be available.

Cristian Romero and Giovani Lo Celso now react after news coming out of Tottenham yesterday

Tottenham Hotspur fans were treated to some great news yesterday – Rodrigo Bentancur was spotted back on the training pitch.

The Uruguayan suffered a serious knee injury in February this year and has been out of action since. He’s still a little while away, but seeing him back on the pitches at Hotspur Way is a fantastic sight for Spurs fans.

Here’s how Cristian Romero and Giovani Lo Celso reacted to the news.

Rodrigo Bentancur spotted back in Tottenham’s training ground

Rodrigo Bentancur’s injury was a major factor in Tottenham’s poor performance in the second half of the previous campaign.

The 26-year-old, who transferred from Juventus to Spurs in January of last year, is undoubtedly the team’s top midfielder. When he was well, he was brilliant, therefore his absence was very detrimental to them.

Although Yves Bissouma has done a fantastic job of filling his shoes this year, Bentancur’s return to full health will make Tottenham a much stronger team.

Before engaging in individual exercises yesterday, the Uruguayan warmed up with the team. Although he isn’t yet physically prepared to participate in a full session, this is a significant improvement.

Bentancur celebrated his return to the practice fields yesterday by posting on Instagram. He was seen with several of his South American friends, and he accompanied the photo with a few hourglass emojis, indicating that he will soon be returning.

Emerson Royal and Giovani Lo Celso both responded with heart emojis in response to Cuti Romero’s “Toroooooooooooosss” comment on the post.

For supporters of Tottenham, this is huge news.

Even if Bentancur won’t be eligible for selection for another month or so, the fact that he’s back on the practice fields is fantastic news for Spurs supporters.

Under Antonio Conte, the Uruguayan was one of the club’s top players. He was terrific, and we believe Ange Postecoglou will make him much better.

When Bantancur returns, it will be intriguing to see what role he will be assigned.
