The Pittsburgh Steelers have added another offensive lineman in the 2024 NFL Draft.
Pittsburgh With the 51st choice in the 2024 NFL Draft, the Pittsburgh Steelers selected Zach Frazier, a center from West Virginia, to bolster their offensive line.
The Steelers added possible starters to the trenches with their first two draft selections in 2024. The team selected Frazier to fill their final two o-line deficiencies after trading their first-round pick for Washington offensive tackle Troy Fautanu.
The team hasn’t taken offensive lineman in the first two rounds since Mike Adams and David DeCastro were chosen in 2012.
Frazier is a 6-foot-2, 306-pound center who played 24 games at West Virginia. The First-Team All-Big 12 came into the NFL Draft as one of the top three centers with the potential of going anywhere from the bottom of the from the first to the midpoint of the second. Now he finds himself in Pittsburgh.
After not meeting with Frazier at the NFL Combine, the Steelers invited him in for a local pre-draft visit.
With Frazier, the Steelers will have just one genuine center on their roster. It does not imply that he will automatically start; in fact, he will probably have to fight with Nate Herbig and maybe second-year lineman Spencer Anderson for the starting spot. Even though he is projected to win that tournament, he still needs to perform well at the Latrobe training camp.
In the NFL Draft, Pittsburgh still holds picks 84, 98, 119, 178, and 195.
