Although Tottenham Hotspur’s last Premier League game was a home loss to Wolverhampton Wanderers, manager Ange Postecoglou will be optimistic that his team can end the season on a high note.
Many preseason predictions were destroyed by Spurs’ explosive start to the season, which propelled them into the lead in the title race. A year before to Tottenham’s move for N’Koudou, they signed Clinton N’Jie, a dynamic forward with enormous potential, from Lyon for approximately £12 million.
After just one campaign, he was forgotten and replaced by N’koudou in 2016. After spending £11 million to leave Marseille, the winger N’Jie signed a loan deal to join the French team before moving permanently.
Sadly, Tottenham got it wrong on both occasions, with N’koudou, who had scored ten goals and supplied five assists in France the term before, flattering to deceive.

When N’Koudou first arrived, he said that two of his main inspirations were former Manchester United sensation Cristiano Ronaldo and Tottenham legend Gareth Bale, who had an impact on his style of play and hinted at the possibility of great success in north London.

And in fairness, N’Koudou did offer such attributes, with his fleet-footedness and explosive qualities a perfect fit for prominence at a team such as Tottenham.
Podcaster Chris Miller criticized the “awful signing” after the Cameroon international fell short of expectations, scoring just one goal and dishing out two assists in 27 games across all competitions. He also said that chairman Daniel Levy was “sapped” by the player’s miserable return to Tottenham colors.
After a series of fruitless loan stints, N’Koudou left Spurs for approximately £5 million back in 2019. It’s possible that he has since rebuilt his career.
After making just 19 league appearances this season in the Saudi Pro League, the Damac FC hero has finally lived up to the initial allegations that he was the Bale replication that Tottenham so much wanted. He has scored 15 goals and provided four assists.
