Steelers: Mason Rudolph’s heartwarming message for Pittsburgh despite playoff failure

Mason Rudolph and the Pittsburgh Steelers saw their season end this past Monday. Pittsburgh faced the Buffalo
Bills in the AFC Wild Card Round following a winter storm-related postponement. And Buffalo prevailed, moving on to the AFC Divisional Round to play the Kansas City Chiefs.
Rudolph posted his observations about the year on social media on Friday. 2023. I will always be appreciative of the chance to play football again as a Pittsburgh Steeler. The quarterback for the Steelers wrote, “God certainly works in mysterious ways.”
Rudolph said in his post on Friday afternoon, “There is no feeling on planet earth that rivals the thrill of victory alongside dear friends & teammates—Here’s to 2024.”
Mason Rudolph stepped up big for Steelers in 2023
Rudolph was Pittsburgh’s third-string quarterback going into the 2023 campaign. Moreover, he missed the most of the season on the field. Later in the year, though, that was altered. Kenny Pickett, the starting signal-caller, went down with a sprained ankle. The Steelers looked to the former Oklahoma State quarterback in Week 16.
He showed out against the Cincinnati Bengals. The former third-round pick threw for 290 yards against the
Bengals, guiding Pittsburgh to a 34-11 triumph. Despite a rocky start to the season, the Steelers went on to win their final three games and finish with a 10-7 record.
Rudolph had a mediocre outing against the Bills. He threw an interception, two touchdowns, and 22 passes for 229 yards. Rudolph threw 55 throws for 719 yards, three touchdowns, and no interceptions in four games during the regular season.
In 2023, Mason Rudolph did not perform like a superstar. But he came through for his team in crunch time, taking them all the way to the postseason. It will be intriguing to watch how the former Oklahoma State signal-caller fits into the quarterback room when the Steelers play in 2024.
