“Tottenham won’t win anything” – Pundit completely dismissive of the Ange Postecoglou era

Although they’ve gone off the boil slightly when compared to their early season form, Tottenham are still playing some of the most entertaining football in the Premier League this season.

The north Londoners, who play a completely different style of football than players like Antonio Conte and Jose Mourinho, have found Ange Postecoglou to be a breath of fresh air.

At the conclusion of most games, the fans regularly scream his name, demonstrating their support for the changes the Australian is attempting to make at White Hart Lane.

However, one former West Ham player who is now a commentator isn’t impressed.

To Football Insider, Frank McAvennie declared, “Tottenham won’t win anything.”

Actually, the Scot was talking about Vicario, the goalkeeper, and his antics following Spurs’ victory against Newcastle. He feels that Vicario needs to be taken down a peg or two.

He declared, “There’s a certain way to win games.”

“But Vicario shouldn’t be acting that way during the game. The goalie is acting completely disrespectfully, yet he persisted in doing it and giving it his best.

“I’m sure Ange sorted him out afterwards; he would have been irritated with him and said something after the game if that’s what they have to do to beat Newcastle.”

Instead than trying to win over the claret and blue supporters by taking a swipe at a club that is a few steps ahead of his previous team in practically every way, perhaps McAvennie himself might learn a bit about respect.

The next time Tottenham plays the Hammers, Postecoglou would be wise to post McAvennie’s remarks on the locker room wall.

That day, there won’t be a need for a team meeting.
