Thomas Frank is looking increasingly likely to become the new Tottenham manager.

The Brentford head coach will no doubt approach the vacant role in North London with caution after Daniel Levy once again demonstrated his ruthless nature by sacking Ange Postecoglou.

It has been reported that Tottenham players are unhappy about Postecoglou’s dismissal, which could pose a problem for Frank.

Therefore, should Levy trigger Brentford’s sizable release clause to secure Frank, the Dane will first seek assurances ahead of a switch to Tottenham.

Questions have been raised over the futures of the Tottenham coaches after Postecoglou’s dismissal, with Ryan Mason having already departed to take over as the Head Coach at West Brom.

Scott Munn has also reportedly been sacked by Tottenham, who have seen plenty of staff turnover since Mauricio Pochettino’s departure in 2019.

This is par for the course when you have a revolving managerial door, and ex-Spurs scout Bryan King – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – believes plenty more will succumb to the same fate once a new manager takes over.

“An announcement will be made next week,” King said.

“Tottenham need to start preparing for next season. They need to decide who is going to go, what players will stay, and what staff will stay. All these decisions need to be made in the next 10 days.

“I don’t think the compensation involved in appointing Frank will be a problem for Tottenham, not when you consider the fees they pay for players.

“If Frank comes in, or any manager for that matter, they’re going to want their own staff, there is going to be a clear-out.

“Any new manager who comes in will want to know what players are staying, who he can bring in, he will want to see the structure of the football club, and there will be staff changes, that is for sure .”

Levy’s modus operandi has always centred around financial gains. However, the turnover of managers at Tottenham has seen the chairman waste millions on payouts.

Postecoglou’s P45 will be costly, given he had a minimum of a year left on his contract, as will the expense to replace staff that will inevitably also leave Tottenham.

It also pushes players like Rodrigo Bentancur closer to the exit door, making the club’s task of extracting maximum value from their prized assets far more difficult.

Levy has been credited with being a shrewd businessman. However, his inability to identify and stick with a manager somewhat discredits his reputation.
