Top Fitness Coach Reveals Some Secrets of Jannik Sinner’s Body

When Jannik Sinner accepted the three-month suspension deal with WADA, it was still very disappointing news for both him and his team. The world number 1 – who had been found totally innocent in the first instance by an independent court – would not have wanted to accept this compromise and repeated it in a recent interview, but his lawyers explained to him that it was the best solution to avoid ending up on trial before the CAS in Lausanne.

The 3-time Grand Slam champion – who will finish serving this ban on May 4 – could have received a suspension of one to two years, which would have had a very excessive impact on his image and career.

Sinner worked on some details

The 23-year-old from Sesto Pusteria will be back in action in front of his fans at the Rome Masters 1000 and – thanks to the disappointing results of Alexander Zverev and Carlos Alcaraz in these two months – he will still be number 1 in the world when he makes his debut at the Foro Italico.

In addition, this period of suspension has given Jannik and his team the opportunity to work on some details concerning especially the athletic part. The Italian champion has grown a lot from this point of view compared to the early years of his career, in which he was often the victim of injuries that slowed down his rise to the highest level.

His fitness coach Marco Panichi was really important during that suspension and worked closely with the world number 1.

In a long interview with Il Corriere della Sera’, Panichi revealed some details of the work done with Sinner in recent weeks: “We have tried to take advantage of this period in the best possible way. We focused on some details and turned micro-cycles into macro-cycles, hoping that this work will bear fruit from Rome onwards.”

Marco continued: “Jannik’s body resembles that of a decathlete, he is able to do everything. However, its best quality is certainly its handling of the most tense situations. He manages to have a perfectly clear mind even in moments of enormous stress.”
