Brenda Frese got her second commit of the offseason.

Maryland women’s basketball has repeated its success of taking a conference foe’s best player. The Terps earned a commitment from Indiana guard Yarden Garzon Monday, according to On3’s Talia Goodman.

Garzon, a 6-foot-3 native of Israel, averaged 14.4 points, 5.4 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game — all career highs — this season. She also shot 43.1% from the field, 40.7% from deep and 90.1% from the free-throw line.

Garzon played her first three years at Indiana and will now finish her career in College Park. While with the Hoosiers, she earned an all-conference honorable mention her sophomore year and a second-team spot this season.

Her 3-point shooting will be an especially dangerous weapon on a Maryland team porjected to have more scoring threats than Indiana, allowing defenders to lose track of her on the perimeter.

She is head coach Brenda Frese’s second addition of the offseason, joining Penn State center Gracie Merkle.
