The PSL may be taking a short break, but the money never stops.

From managers and players to board members, millions of Rands circulate throughout the league, but only a few walk away with hundreds of thousands a month – Deon Hotto and Yusuf Maart are apart of that exclusive club.

Salaries

Deon Hotto: R500,000 per month

Yusuf Maart: R300,000 per month

Hotto is the PSL’s second-highest paid player, but is still R400,000 off Serbian international Samir Nurkovic, who earns, according to Briefly, a mouth-watering R930,000 per month.

Orlando Pirates want Adams

PSL leaders Orlando Pirates are in hot pursuit for Stellies playmaker Jayden Adams, and have offered the club cash and 24-year-old Goodman Mosele.

“At the moment the way things stand, Orlando Pirates are in a much better position to sign Jayden [Adams]. They have offered Stellenbosch FC money plus Goodman Mosele for that deal to go through,” a source told Soccer Laduma.

“Yes, it’s still early stages but that is how things start. They could actually overtake Mamelodi Sundowns in that race. They are confident they can have the deal sealed in the next transfer window period which is in January.

Another Soccer Laduma source confirmed the rumours, saying, “It’s believed that Van Rooyen has been talking to Jayden (Adams) to him about life at Pirates. They are very close and that could also influence the move. But it will all depend on the talks between Stellenbosch FC and Orlando Pirates and if Mamelodi Sundowns could go all the way and meet the price tag that Stellies had put up towards the end of the last transfer window in September.”

KHANYISA MAYO ON WHY HE DID NOT JOIN KAIZER CHIEFS

The 26-year-old started his career as a winger in the SuperSport United youth structures. After failing to break through into the senior team – Mayo took a different path.

He moved to the Motsepe Foundation Championship to play for Royal Eagles. He later joined Richards Bay in the same division and that is where he was scouted by Cape Town City.

Mayo’s quality in front of goal and physicality saw him move from winger to center forward.

Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns came knocking after Mayo finished as the league’s top goalscorer in 2022/23 with 12 goals.

The club’s chairman, John Comitis, firmly stated that Mayo was valued at $2 million (R36 million).

The two Gauteng Giants kept chasing for two seasons until Mayo moved to Algerian giants CR Belouizdad in September.

According to the Mthatha-born star, the Algerian club submitted an offer during September’s deadline day.

“What occurred was, when I had just signed the contract with CRB, that’s when Chiefs came knocking and said they were willing to take out this amount of money for me,” Mayo said, as quoted by iDiski Times.

“It was just one hour, we had just submitted the CRB documents.”

Meanwhile, Kaizer Chiefs remain liked with TWO HIGHLY-RATED AFRICAN STRIKERS, a midfielder and a winger in January.
