Credit: Michael Carrick Makes Baggies Shocking Prediction Ahead of Middlesbrough Clash
Michael Carrick has had some heavy praise for West Brom ahead of the Baggies’ game against Middlesbrough.
West Bromwich Albion are due to take on Middlesbrough tonight at 8pm – and Boro head coach Michael Carrick isn’t underestimating the challenge that his team faces.
Carrick mentioned that the Baggies have a ‘really strong team’ and that he thinks they are a ‘force in this league’. Furthermore, the former Manchester United midfielder also thinks that West Brom will be ‘up there’ by the end of the 2024/25 season.
Speaking to the press ahead of Tuesday evening’s game, Carrick said: “If you look at them, they have a really strong team, physically, experience wise, they have good quality. They’re a force in this league and I think they’ll be up there come the end of the season. This league throws up results from week to week but I think come the end of the season they’ll definitely be up there.”
Ahead of tonight’s game at the Hawthorns, West Brom will be without Daryl Dike – the American is set to to return in a few weeks as he continues to recover from his Achilles tendon injury. Jayson Molumby could also make his return to the squad – he featured on the bench last time out, but was not brought on.
Meanwhile, Middlesbrough have a slew of injury doubts. Matt Clarke, Tommy Conway, Rav van den Berg and Ben Doak all are potential absentees – Doak was spotted wearing an ice pack on his knee after Boro’s win over Stoke City at the weekend, but it is thought to be merely precautionary. Clarke and Conway missed out on that game, but could return to the fray against West Brom.
Currently, West Brom are top of the Championship table, having won five, drawn one and lost one. Middlesbrough find themselves in 8th after seven games – they have won three, drawn two and lost two.
