Kaizer Chiefs have confirmed news of the passing of goalkeeping coach Ilyes Mzoughi’s mother, Hasna Mansour.
Kaizer Chiefs have confirmed news of the passing of goalkeeping coach Ilyes Mzoughi’s mother, Hasna Mansour on Thursday.
Mansour was immediately granted a leave of absence on compassionate grounds to return to his homeland to attend to the bereavement.
A statement posted on the official Kaizer Chiefs website read: “As one of our own, the entire Kaizer Chiefs Family feels strong empathy and stands in solidarity with Ilyes and his loved ones.”
Executive Chairman Dr Kaizer Motaung expressed his compassion with Mzoughi, telling www.kaizerchiefs.com, “I am really sorry to learn of the passing of Ilyes’ mother and on behalf of Kaizer Chiefs family I wish to extend my deep, sincere condolences to Ilyes and his family during this time of bereavement.”
“The thoughts and prayers of management, technical team, players and staff are with the Mzoughi family right now, as we wish them the strength to endure the grief of losing a beloved close relative.
“May her soul rest in eternal peace.”
Amakhosi will next be in Betway Premiership action on Saturday, 28 September when they host defending league champions Mamelodi Sundowns at the FNB Stadium.
Kick-off is at 15:00.

Mayele is the man that Chiefs are determined to bring to the club. Initially, the club did not manage to sign the R36 million striker in the recent transfer window.
However, Nabi and Amakhosi manager are preparing a new and improved offer for the star in January, according to SoccerLaduma.
Meaning, he is one of the clubs priority targets. The fact that they are willing to pay such big money and that they are already preparing an offer over 3 months out speaks volumes. Moreover, they were linked with him in the recent transfer window. Therefore, Amakhosi management are very keen to bring Mayele to Soweto next season.
AMAKHOSI WILL BE SIGNING MORE PLAYERS UNDER NABI
Nabi has ensured fans that he will be signing more players to Chiefs.
“I think we haven’t finished changing the squad, this is normal,” Nabi stated on Phakaaati.
So, Amakhosi fans can expect more signings in the next transfer window in January. Meanwhile, he has reassured fans that his priority and focus is on Chiefs.
“For all decisions, the direction of my eyes is for the best for Chiefs. It is not to be friendly, not to be emotional. For that reason, moving the squad won’t stop window after window,” he added.
Ultimately, Nabi will do his best to ensure he signs the best players possible for Amakhosi. So far, several of the players he signed have impressed at Chiefs. Inagio Miguel, Rushwin Dortley, Bradley Cross and Gaston Sirino have all impressed at the start of the 2024/25 BetWay Premiership.
