Kaizer Chiefs two new signings have been included in the Bafana Bafana preliminary squad.

Bradley Cross and Rushwin Dortely were included in Hugo Broos’ 33-member preliminary squad for next month’s 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers against Congo.

Broos’ charges face the Congolese in Gqeberha, Eastern Cape, on Friday, 11 October 2024 (7pm), and then they travel to Congo to play the return match on Tuesday, 15 October 2024.

KAIZER CHIEFS DUO IN THE BAFANA BAFANA PRELIM SQUAD

The final 23-member squad will be announced in the next few days.

Both Dortely and Cross featured in Kaizer Chiefs’ 2-1 win over Marumo Gallants in their first league match of the season. The two might make the final 23 man squad should they keep things tied at the back against AmaZulu and Mamelodi Sundowns in their next games.

So far, Bafana Bafana squad is dominated by Orlando Pirates and Sundowns players, with only two Kaizer Chiefs featuring. If Amakhosi show improvement this campaign, they might have more players in the national team.

Bafana have played two Afcon qualifiers so far, winning one and drawing another. SAFA will communicate the ticket information and the home match venue this week. The two top finishers will qualify for the tournament to be hosted in Morocco from 21 December 2025 to 18 January 2026.
