Blow: Saints Unveil Inactives Ahead of Eagles Matchup

Taysom Hill officially won’t be playing Sunday against the Philadelphia Eagles.

The New Orleans Saints ruled out the tight end with a chest injury and Hill was among the team’s seven inactives listed 90 minutes prior to kick off. Hill, who was hurt in last week’s game against the Dallas Cowboys, had been designated as questionable on Friday, but saw his status downgraded twice: First, he was ruled doubtful on Saturday. Then, two hours before kick, the team downgraded him to out.

Coach Dennis Allen had said Hill’s injury wasn’t “overly serious.” But in Dallas, the 34-year-old was taken to a local hospital during the Cowboys game for further evaluation. Allen declined to expand on specifics, though added Hill flew back with the team later that night. During this past week, Hill practiced twice with the Saints, albeit on a limited basis.
