Brendan Rodgers Hints at Possible Starting Lineup Rotation  Against Falkirk

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has hinted at rotating his starting 11 against Falkirk tomorrow.

The Hoops welcome the Bairns to Glasgow’s east end in the quarter-finals of the Scottish League Cup.

Although John McGlynn’s men are in fine fettle, the Bhoys have started the season terrifically, too, emerging victorious from every game they’ve played so far.

The latest was in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday when the Celts ran riot against Slovan Bratislava.

Liam Scales, Kyogo Furuhashi, Arne Engels, Daizen Maeda, and Adam Idah all got in on the act on a historic night at Parkhead.

From the midweek clash, though, Hoops boss Rodgers is expected to make a few changes to his team for tomorrow’s match.

Falkirk are playing well at the moment, but the gaffer can afford to rotate his lineup and hinted at doing so in his press conference yesterday.

“There is no point in having a strong squad if you are not going to use them,” he said (Celtic FC on YouTube).

“It was the beginning of the season when we were playing just one game a week there is not quite the same demand but we are now coming into a run of six games in 23 days and there is no way I will be using the same team in all of those games.

“We want to keep that intensity and keep that mentality and as the season goes on I need to have a strong squad.

“It’s great as every player will always want to play and they will be disappointed when they don’t but they are paid to deliver and these players are delivering and that’s what we want to continue.”

Rodgers has kept the same starting 11 in his last two games, but it will undoubtedly change this weekend.

Tomorrow is the ideal opportunity for the boss to alter his team and give opportunities to new signings Alex Valle and Auston Trusty.

Luke McCowan is cup-tied and can’t play, but Paulo Bernardo, James Forrest, Anthony Ralston, and Adam Idah could all come into the lineup.
