START OF A NEW CHAPTER FOR AMAKHOSI LEGEND
Chiefs have decided that they will not be offering Amakhosi legend, Itumeleng Khune a playing contract.
“The offer to Itu is to work with us at a marketing level, an ambassadorial role. We’ve seen it internationally with the Dwight Yorkes,” Jessica Motaung explained on FarPost.
Therefore, Khune must decide whether he wants to take up this new role at Naturena or if he wants to continue his playing career elsewhere. So, the latter option is more likely. This is because Khune and his agent have expressed his desire to continue playing.
CHIEFS TO RELEASE DEFENDERS
Ultimately, Nabi and Chiefs have already signed four defenders.
Rushwin Dortley, Bongani Sam, Inacio Miguel have joined Amakhosi. While, Njabulo Blom has recently his childhood club. Additionally, S’fiso Hlanti and Njabulo Ngcobo have departed Naturena.
Meanwhile, McCarthy is one of the Chiefs players Nabi has decided are not in his plans for this season.
Furthermore, Chiefs have to release one of their six foreign-based players. In fact, the PSL have a foreign quota that only allows five registered foreign-based players per team.
Meaning, one – or more of the following players will have to leave Amakhosi: Thatayaone Ditlhokwe, Edson Castillo, Saile and Edmilson Dove. So, with the Betway Premiership having started, Nabi and Chiefs have chosen to not register this player.
However, this does not mean that Castillo, Saile or Ditlhokwe are safe. In fact, as mentioned, Saile could be loaned out or sold by Amakhosi. Meanwhile, Ditlhokwe is one of the men linked with an exit.
MIDFIELD MAESTRO TO DISSAPEAR AND THEN COME BACK?
Both Radebe and Mashiane are linked with loan moves.
So, these THREE Chiefs players have been told that they will be released. Meanwhile, Radebe is one of THREE players being pursued by FIVE rivals in the BetWay Premiership.
AMAKHOSI ATTACKERS ATTRACT INTEREST
So, Chiefs have prioritized the need to sign an attacker – or two. Meaning, one – or two, Amakhosi attackers will be released by Nabi.
Saile is one of the Chiefs players likely to leave under Nabi. Meanwhile, Amakhosi have received a staggering R40 million offer from Vitoria SC for Du Preez. Initially, he was not one of the players linked with an exit. However, the magnitude of this offer has Amakhosi management considering the deal.
Interestingly, Chiefs could sell Du Preez to buy one or two of their biggest transfer targets.
