Video: Tottenham’s Star Delivers a Brilliant assist in a win For His Country
The international break has already delivered a lot of success for various Tottenham Hotspur players representing their countries, and Destiny Udogie has added to that list by providing a great assist for Italy in their win over France.
Udogie tears France apart
In the opening round of Nations League matches, Italy took on France in a clash of the titans, but it was the Azzurri who came out on top in a 3-1 win.
The victory came on French soil, too, just to add to the success. And, Italy had to come from behind to get the win, after Bradley Barcola gave France the lead within the first minute.
Later, Federico Dimarco finished off a breathtaking team goal with a stunning finish to level the scores. Then, in the second half, Italy asserted their dominance, with a Davide Fratesi goal putting them in front, before Giacomo Rapsadori sealed the win with 15 minutes to go.
It is that Rapsadori goal that Udogie was able to play a part in. Alessandro Bastoni worked some space at the back before sending a long ball over to the left flank to Udogie.
The Spurs man took on the French full-back before delivering a splitting ball to Rapsadori on the edge of the box. The Italian attacker then rounded Arsenal defender William Saliba, who was unable to do anything about the turn and finish from Raspadori.
Classic Udogie
Udogie has been out injured all summer, but showed he is heading back to his best with a trademark forward run and great vision to find the pass.
The Italian full-back registered three assists and two goals last season for Spurs (Transfermarkt).

What a ball by Udogie that is. The best bit though, let’s be honest, is seeing William Saliba fall on his backside as he doesn’t have a clue what’s happening. So much for being one of the best centre-halves in the world.
