Jeff Stelling has said he likes West Ham United as a football club despite his criticisms about the treatment of David Moyes.
The former Sky Sports presenter hit back instantly after being accused of having beef with West Ham fans which continues to rumble on.
Julen Lopetegui hasn’t had the best of starts to life at the London Stadium and currently has his side sitting thirteenth despite several new signings.
Speaking live on talkSPORT (3 September) co-host Shebahn Aherne hit Stelling with a question about his “beef” with West Ham and their fans.
“This beef between you and the West Ham fans just rumbles doesn’t it,” Aherne said
To which Stelling replied: “It’s just the backing of David Moyes, I think most people in football thought he was doing a good job and I think he’ll be back in football before long as well.
“But look, I like West Ham as a football club and I always have liked them and I think they’ll have a good season, they’ve had a tough start in terms of fixtures

Perhaps one of the only people who might appreciate the upcoming international break is Lopetegui
The Spaniard has welcomed a fair few new faces to his camp over the course of the summer transfer window and hasn’t had time for all the arrivals to gel into his side.
That is aside from the likes of Max Kilman who have been at the London Stadium since near the start of the window [BBC Radio Five Live, 24 August, 17:55].
Another factor that needs to be taken into account is that of the Hammers’ opponents. In just their first three Premier League matches, the London-based club have had to face the likes of Manchester City and Aston Villa who both managed to get Champions League football last term.
The international break could give Lopetegui the time he needs to integrate his new additions into his squad and perhaps improve the overall performance.
New arrival Jean Clair-Todibo [Dharmesh Sheth, 10 August] would no doubt be a welcome addition to the line-up and would help shore up the defence even more than it already has been.
All eyes are on Rush Green in the break.
