Kaizer Chiefs Finally Agreed to Sign New Forward as Nabi Told Board He Want a Striker

Kaizer Chiefs boss Nabi has told the board he wants a striker after failed pursuits for other targets. There are two names on the agenda.

Kaizer Chiefs have to improvise in their search for a striker

Golden Arrows striker Lungelo Nguse is the latest name linked to Chiefs via SoccerLaduma. This week we also reported that 20-year-old Clement Mzise was a new target. The 20-year-old Tanzanian has one cap for Tanzania, earned in September 2023.

“The striker issue is causing a bit of panic in the team as the league start approaches. There are a few they are looking at including Yanga SC striker Clement Mzise, but now they have enquired about Golden Arrows striker Lungelo Nguse,” their source said.

Mayele is a no-go

Chiefs have been long-standing admirers of 30-year-old Congolese marksman Fiston Mayele. The Pyramids stars knows Nabi well after the pair worked together at Tanzanian giants Young Africans. A deal for the man with 14 goals and four assists in 25 Caf Champions League appearances is off the table because Amakhosi reportedly won’t meet Pyramids’ evaluation of the player. Also, his wage demands are a sticking point.

Transfer recap

Chiefs have signed goalkeeper Fiacre Ntwari, central defenders Inacio Miguel and Rushwin Dortley (recently called up to the Bafana squad), left-back Bongani Sam and 33-year-old attacking midfielder Gaston Sirino.
