Nasreddine Nabi has announced that Kaizer Chiefs won’t make moves for rumoured targets Percy Tau and Fiston Mayele.
NABI RULES OUT MOVES FOR MARQUEE TARGETS TAU AND MAYELE
Nasreddine Nabi seems to have categorically ruled out approaches for Al AHly wide attacker Percy Tau and Pyramids FC striker Fiston Mayele.
“There are no negotiations with Percy Tau because I believe he still has one year left on his contract,” Nabi told OnTime Sports. “Kaizer Chiefs respects the FIFA rules. If ever there’s an opportunity to sign him, it will be through official channels. We respect Al Ahly, they are a great team.”
“It’s the same situation with Fiston Mayele. He’s like family to me; we worked well together [at Young Africans]. But he has a contract with Pyramids, and he’s not available. We respect that and have not engaged in any negotiations.”
MAYELE IS ONE OF NABI’S FAVOURITE SONS
Congolese marksman Fiston Mayele bagged 54 goals in two seasons under the tutelage of Nasreddine Nabi. Across all clubs, Mayele has 14 goals and four assists from 25 appearances in the Caf Champions League, Africa’s elite club competition.

With manager Nasreddine Nabi categorically ruling out moves for Fiston Mayele and Percy Tau the options keep getting thinner. Perhaps that’s a blessing in disguise though as both players are 30 years old and earning enormous wages.
As things stand, Percy Tau will reportedly pocket R23.2m annually in the first year of his new deal with Egyptian giants Al Ahly. Monthly, that’s roughly R1.93m a month. The annual figure could rise to R31m in the third year. That’s R2 million a month, at the lower end, so he’s probably out of their reach from that perspective.
